Dedicated to helping create a climate-resilient community, Rancho Cucamonga adopted its first-ever Climate Action Plan in December 2021. The Plan aims to address climate change and improve resiliency for our community by establishing Greenhouse Gas emission reduction targets of 31% by 2030 and 47% by 2040.
Key efforts that support the goals outlined in the City’s plan include initiatives such as:
- Expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure
- Supporting the transition of the power grid to renewable sources
- Improving energy efficiency in City-owned facilities
- Growing and maintaining an urban forest
- Connecting pedestrian paths and bikeways throughout the city to encourage active transportation
- Conserving water at City-owned facilities
We are striving to build on creating a world-class community that is safe, equitable, and resilient by reducing contributions to climate change and encouraging the community to join in this future.
