The Rancho Cucamonga Fire District is proud to announce that we will be hosting the first annual Inland Empire Girls Empowerment Camp (GEC), a free two-day event open to teens of all genders ages 14-18, on Saturday, November 2nd and Sunday, November 3rd from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District's All-Risk Training Center (11285 Jersey Blvd.).

The Inland Empire Girls Empowerment Camp is a joint event representing the Chino Valley, Colton, Rialto, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino, San Manuel, and Victorville Fire Departments. Each year, the hosting agency will rotate to a new department.

The purpose of this camp is to encourage teens to learn more about the field of the fire service and to embrace the career opportunities available to them. The weekend camp will prepare the teens for all aspects of the field of the fire service through workshops, discussion activities, and networking opportunities. The campers will also get a hands-on feel of the physical rigor associated with firefighters with activity stations, such as ropes and knots, CPR/first aid, ladder climb, confidence course, using a chainsaw, axe, and hose handling. The second day of the camp is designed to build on the skill and endurance learned from the first day. On Sunday, there will be a short graduation ceremony at 5:00 p.m. for all the participants, family and friends are welcome to attend!

Lunch will be provided on both days. Participants are asked to dress in black or navy-blue workout pants. Shorts are not recommended. T-shirts will be provided. Workout shoes are required. Hair should be tied back for safety.
