Biography
Kim is a long-time resident of our beautiful city. She attended Cucamonga Elementary School, Ruth Musser Middle School, and Rancho Cucamonga High School. Kim is also a third generation graduate of Chaffey College, her grandfather having been one of the first graduates when the college relocated to Rancho Cucamonga in the 1960s. Now, her oldest daughter is attending with the goal of transferring with an Associates in Business degree to a four-year university.
Kim's high school job was at Anthony's Italian Kitchen and later, she worked at the Water Store in Alta Loma while attending college. After graduating from Chaffey College, Kim obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Oregon State University then took a position at a special district in San Bernardino County where she served as District Clerk for over 13 years. As Clerk, Kim is an advocate for transparent and accessible government services, having obtained the Transparency Certificate of Excellence Award and Governance Foundations certification.
When not working, Kim is taking care of her family, including her two daughters, husband, and pets, one of whom was adopted from the RC Animal Center. She enjoys walking on the Pacific Electric Trail, visiting the numerous nearby parks, cooking, and dining out at local restaurants.
About the Position
The City Clerk is an elected representative of the people and serves a four-year term. The City Clerk has legal responsibilities described in California Government Code Sections 40800. The City Clerk is responsible for administering the oath of office to elected officials and City commissioners and maintains the official City records, which reflect the actions of the governing body.
