• Routinely inspect your fences and make sure they are in good order and can prevent your dog from escaping.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Avoid walking by properties where fences look old and not secured or gates are open.
• Carry protective items with you on a walk; umbrella, walking stick, citronella spray, small airhorn.
